Perdiendo mi juego favorito

I'm loosing my favourite game. You're loosing your mind again". Pero para mi resuena como "I'm loosing in my favourite game".

Dark tales around the fire (3): Man made species, the goat and the spider

Before talking about which species meet a criterion, that criterion must be clearly defined. How do you define the expression “man-made”applied to the development of animal species? Could a cloned animal, one that comes from a long line of animals selected to have a known and very specific genetic load, such as laboratory mice, be classified as artificial? So here I choose some interesting criteria, we can have very special moments telling about these animals when we are on a camp chat: Animals transformed by genetic manipulation Of these we do have, and many in fact. They can be considered artifitial because the laboratory is essential in the genesis of their line (which is often called a variety, because it is still claimed to belong to the same species of their parents’). Goats that have silk proteins in their milk: This sounds so powerful, goats with silk milk ... well it is more about having a living silk protein spout in the shape of a goat. Spider silk is much mor

Dark tales around the fire (2): The amazing story of a father of 800 children

Let’s call him Jack . Filled with paternal pride, Jack takes care of his 800 or more children growing up inside his body. Because Jack is pregnant, pregnancy is a male task in all the species of seahorse. You guessed it, Jack is a seahorse. And Jack is a very social father to be, he likes so much bonding with all the (pregnant) boys.  To achieve this desired fatherhood, Jack wooed a female, and they danced together in a beautiful courtship ritual that can last up to 8 hours. Finally, she deposited her eggs in the special pouch of thickened skin that Jack has in his belly. An extraordinary feat of coordination. Then eggs were fertilized inside Jack’s pouch, Jack being the male had sperma for this special task. The gestation of Jack will last between 10 and 25 days, according to the species of seahorse to which Jack belongs . Eggs hatch inside his bag, but pregnancy does not end there. For many days, Jack will invest the greatest paternal dedication taking care of his grow

Dark tales around the fire (1): Spiders Lullaby, making the ultimate sacrifice

Spiders weave the most unimaginable life stories; bizarre stories, yes, but as true as old mother nature is.   And yes, some of these stories seem directly drawn from the imagination of a sadistic author because many species of spiders practice what is known as matriphagy that is just a long word with which scientists describe that moms are regularly and obligatorily in their offspring menu. Honor to a caring mother: Stegodyphus lineatus Image - Stegodyphus lineatus   Each female spider of the species Stegodyphus lineatus hatches only one brood in her lifetime, and you will understadn why.   But this story is different, it is a love story. The story starts in the warm and sheltering nest that the spider mum of the species has built for her eggs, in its special corner in her spider web. When the little spiderlings are born, Mom is responsible for drilling the silk that protects the nest to free them and she starts caring for them with real dedication. For two full weeks, m
